A summary of the COP30 results and developments is provided below:

  • In a scenario without the Paris Agreement, global temperature increase is expected to exceed 4°C, while full implementation of current Nationally Determined Contributions under the Agreement would reduce this increase to the range of 2.3–2.5°C; however, it was noted that this level is far from being compatible with the 1.5°C target.
  • Two new initiatives, the "Global Implementation Accelerator (GIA)" and the "1.5°C Belém Mission", were launched to support the acceleration of practices aligned with the 1.5°C target, coordinated by the COP30-COP31 Presidencies.
  • A call was made to triple adaptation/compliance finance by 2035.
  • It was stated that the simplified sets of harmonization indicators, which will allow countries to monitor their progress in the area of harmonization through a framework that is appropriate for their national conditions, voluntary, and non-binding, were adopted.
  • It was decided to establish a new just transition mechanism aimed at strengthening international cooperation and technical support.
  • The COP30 Presidency stated that two roadmaps on moving away from fossil fuels and deforestation will be prepared for presentation at COP31.
  • It was decided to establish a two-year work program on climate finance within the framework of Article 9 of the Paris Agreement.
  • It was decided that Turkey would host and preside over COP31, while Australia would chair the negotiations.
