"The Draft Regulation on Carbon Crediting and Offsetting in Türkiye" has been published by The Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, Climate Change Directorate.
Pursuant to the Climate Law No. 7552 dated 2 July 2025, regulations regarding voluntary carbon markets and international carbon markets defined under the Paris Agreement of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be established.
Within this framework, the aforementioned draft Regulation sets out the procedures and principles governing the operation of the Turkey Carbon Offsetting System, offsetting transactions, the trading of carbon credits produced within the borders of our country in international carbon markets, and the registration of credited projects.
We kindly request that your opinions and suggestions regarding this Draft be entered into the attached Opinion Submission Form and sent via email to yasemin.kayhan@tksd.org.tr, doga.tuzcuoglu@tksd.org.tr, and tksd@tksd.org.tr by the end of the working day on August 8, 2025.
