Responsible Care Guidance
In 2020, Cefic revised the Responsible Care® management framework for Europe; This builds the industry's reputation and trust, while paving the way for more European chemical manufacturers to join the Responsible Care community.
A guidebook that explains the Responsible Care® management framework, concepts and overall approach. This is accompanied by the Responsible Care self-assessment web tool, a multiple choice questionnaire available in 18 languages. These tools support companies and national associations through four maturity levels of Responsible Care for continuous improvement. The system is based on the six elements of the Global Responsible Care Global Charter, which, through the combined commitment of 580 CEOs of chemical companies, contribute to a globally harmonized Responsible Care approach.
The Responsible Care® Web tool has been updated with new features and functionality.
The new web tool offers many features, including:
- Benchmark performance against industry peers
- Cross-reference performance against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other international standards
- Company specific tips for continuous improvement
You can access the document prepared by the Responsible Care Issue Team (RCIT) for new features and functions here.
