Dear Members,

As part of the 29th UN Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP29), which started in Baku on Monday, November 11, Türkiye published its 2053 Long-Term Climate Strategy document.

Türkiye is making significant strides toward its 2053 Net Zero Emission Target!

Türkiye is taking important steps towards combating climate change and achieving sustainable development goals. Following the ratification of the Paris Agreement, Türkiye committed to achieve net zero emissions by 2053. The Long-Term Climate Strategy, prepared under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, includes strategies to support radical transformation in energy, industry, transportation and many other sectors.

- 35 Carbon Reduction Targets with Different Strategies

- 38 Resilience to Climate Change through Adaptation Strategy

- Green Energy, Digitalization and Sustainable Production Models

This strategy aims to move Türkiye's long-term development process towards a more environmentally friendly and low-carbon path by covering not only emission reductions but also cross-cutting areas such as clean technology, equitable transformation, climate finance and capacity building.
